Low Maintenance Colour

Whether it's the start of a new season or a post-breakup move, getting a new hair color is a thrilling way to change up your look. But as much as we love a good hair transformation, our purses can sometimes beg to differ especially with the current financial climate we are all facing right now.

If you're looking to change up your hair colour, or just want a low cost way of maintaining your current colour there are plenty of techniques that offer a seamless grow-out and are kind to your bank balance.

Face Framing Highlights

Enter 'money piece highlights'; a happy medium between two-tone hair and super-soft balayage highlights that instantly brighten and frame your face. Money piece highlights are a fuss-free way to change up your look without having to touch the whole head.

Root Blur Balayage

The purpose of this colour technique is to achieve a softer transition between natural hair and the highlight, which allows for a much more seamless blend. Erasing the lines of demarcation gives the colour a lot more longevity than a traditional highlight would.

Babylights

Babylights are very thin, fine highlights subtly placed throughout the hair. Babylights are the most common ways to add dimension while keeping it low maintenance and natural-looking. You can also customise your look by choosing to get lighter or darker baby lights than your natural hair colour to either brighten or darken your overall hair colour.

Tint

"Expensive brunette" is the new colour trend sweeping salons across the globe, its name coined for the luxurious look that comes from the aesthetic’s focus on dimension, depth and shine.

Regardless of its title, however, the shade doesn’t legitimately need to be expensive in a practical sense. In fact, the idea is that it’s designed to look expensive while actually remaining quite low-maintenance.

Tone

Toners can bring any hair colour back into balance, be it a brown that has become too warm, or a blonde that has turned a little brassy. 'If your hair has faded or oxidised to orange, you can use a toner to “neutralise” those unwanted tones, and is a great way and inexpensive way to keep your colour fresh and last longer between appointments.
